Enjoy the local cooking which is scented with fresh herbs picked in the hills, almond confectionery which is especially popular at Easter time and excellent Portuguese wines.
A spirit slowly distilled from the fruit of the arbutus trees that grow in the hills is used to make excellent herbal liqueurs - tasty!

A short drive from the Villa you have, Faro, Loule and Albufeira.
Faro is approx. 20 minutes drive, here you have a great choice of shops, cafes and restaurants This lovely town has an historic centre (’cidade velha’) with Cathedral and Bishop’s palace. There is also a marina and train station.
Loulé is famous for it’s 14th century castle and the Saturday market!
Albufeira for great nightlife, restaurants and shopping.

The Algarve coast is well known for its golden sand beaches, cafes, restaurants and sporting activities including tennis, water sports, horse riding and excellent golf courses.
